Tuna steak salad

Lovely Tuna steak and green bean salad.


  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 2 tsp garam masala mix
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh root ginger, grated
  • handful fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • 3-4 mint leaves, finely chopped 1 tuna steak, about 2cm thick (about 200g)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 100g fine green beans, lightly steamed
  • lemon wedge to serve


Using a pestle and mortar grind the garam masala, salt, pepper, fennel seeds, ginger, coriander and mint leaves into a paste. Use this to cover both sides of the tuna, before leaving to rest for at least one hour.
